The 6th annual Detroit River Days will come to an end today, but that doesn’t mean we can’t talk about how great it has been! The three-day festival kicked off Friday, June 22, 2012 , with some old favorites and new additions.
River Days presented by the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy was held across the Detroit River Walk, and welcomed many performers, and carnival rides. Boys II Men will be one of the performers tonight, so make sure you don’t miss out. Don’t forget about the Riverwalk Buskers which are a new addition to the festival. These street performers can be found across the Riverwalk doing illusions, musical acts , and much more.

The Farmers Market is every Wednesday on Wayne State’s campus at 5201 Cass Avenue in front of the Prentis Hall. The Farmers Market has a wide variety of fresh, fruits, vegetables, herbs,eggs, salads, flowers and much more! This is the fifth year the Farmers Market has been at Wayne State University so head over there so we can continue to make it a success .
Sneakerheads around the country are creating a major buzz about the Air Yeezy Two’s that are being released this Saturday. Many teens are lining up early in order to get a pair of the Air Yeezy Two’s. Since many local retailers are not selling them boutiques around the nation are setting their own price for the shoes which is around $1,000! For the sneakerheads in Michigan Burn Rubber in Royal Oak are releasing the Air Yeezy Two’s this Saturday June 9th at 8:00am.

2012 Chevrolet Belle Isle Detroit Grand Prix (6/1-3/12)
The Grand Prix is back in the Motor City! The track spreads 2.1 miles across the Belle Isle Park Road Course. National radio coverage can be heard on IMS Radio Network and Sirius satellite XM Radio Channel 94. For more info check out the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix website.
Motor City Pride (6/2-3/12)
The festival is the largest LGBT event in Michigan, and the festival starts today at Hart Plaza. Doors open at 1:00PM, and festivities begin at 2:00 PM. The parade begins at 11:00 AM tomorrow at Fort & Griswold heading down to Hart Plaza. Motor City Pride will have performances by Kimberly Cole, Duane the Teenage Weirdo, Kenneth Thomas, Miz Korona, and many more! Check out the Motor City Pride website for more info.
Detroit’s Big Crush (6/2/12)
This afternoon The Detroit Area Art Deco Society will be hosting a wine stroll. The stroll will make stops at 10 of Detroit’s most notable architectural locations. The day will be filled with food, art , and specific wine for each venue. The event ends at 4PM so get your tickets fast. Visit Detroit Area Art Deco Society for ticket information.
Corktown Historical Home and Garden Tour (6/3/12)
Tour the historical Corktown neighborhood, and learn about some of it’s hidden gems. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $12 or for $15 the day of at the Gaelic League. Visit the Corktown Historic site for a preview and more information on the event.
