Voter Registration

If you are a frequent listener of waynradio.net then you know the importance of registering to vote. For the Fall semester you can’t go a day listening without hearing a PSA about voting, or an interview.

In September we spoke with  American Civil Liberties Union staff attorney Dan Korobkin and Secretary of State  Mobile Office Manager ,Pierre Batton.  Batton along with the mobile Secretary of State Office, helped register people to vote and shared information about voting regulations.

October 9, 2012 is the last day for voter registration!

Interviews are piling in at WAYN

The DJ’s over in the student org have kept the phone lines, and studio active with interviews.

Host of “WAYN’s Gospel Show” Sheree Braswell has interviewed Editor in Chief of Teen Era  Shirah Whitehead , and minister Mary D. Edwards to start off the semester.

You can always hear music coming from the studio when you pass by but last week host of “Dirt Radio” Ben Lantz brought in a band for a live performance.  Ben interviewed the  band Aeris, and set up in the studio for a live performance on air. Ben also brought in composer, and professor at Wayne State University Matthew Schoendorff for a live interview.

Interviews from “WAYN’s Gospel Show” and “Michigan Movement ” with host Angelina Czarnecki have been posted over on our soundcloud. Interviews from “Dirt Radio” are soon to come,  so stay tuned and we will keep you posted!

Passalacqua

Group: Passalacqua

Members: Blaksmith and Mister

(Interview begins: 14:55)

Passalacqua came into the studio for a chat on their music, ice cream, and the meaning of “prop-hop”. Passalacqua has an underground sound that shows signs of Old School hip/hop with a bit of funk dashed in.  If you are in need of a live performance that will leave you wondering, “what is happening?”, “I need this music”, then this is your group. On stage members Blaksmith, and Mister don some pretty nifty masks and some other surprises but you will have to check them out for the details.

Passalacqua had their record release of their collaboration with Detroit’s Duende this weekend, and released their video for “Been A Minute” earlier in September.

Check out their site for downloads and great tunes
